Description | Harrison regrets that Collins' letter of 21 December has been unanswered until now, but explains that it was left out for Dr Michael Foster who visited on 24 December, but due to the volume of work he did not discuss the matter with Harrison.
He explains that there is no subscription which entitles anyone to use the Royal Society's Library, but that the general rule is that, subject to confirmation by the Library Committee, Harrison has the authority to admit use of the Library to anyone with a written recommendation of a Fellow, and consequently Collins should have no trouble obtaining access. He does note that there are restrictions on the borrowing of certain books. |
