TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to the Under Secretary of State, Colonial Office, Downing Street, S.W.
Date11 February 1897
DescriptionFoster has been directed to reply to their letter of 26 January, reference 'No. 26513/96', enclosing a copy of a communication from the Secretary of the British South Africa Company of 24 December 1896 and a letter from Mr Selous. He states that the Committee of the Royal Society, in charge of the Tsetse Fly Enquiry, recognise the value of Selous' experience as a hunter but believe, from careful study of his letter, that he has not fully understood the enquiry and so they suggest a personal interview to discuss the subject. Selous left the country before such a meeting could occur, but Foster hopes that it may be possible upon his return.
