TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Michael Foster, Secretary, Royal Society
Date13 February 1897
DescriptionHarrison asks if he is allowed to communicate the resolution passed at the Presidents' meeting regarding the Victoria Fund to the Presidents who were invited but were unable to attend. He has had two such applications, and will send a copy of the resolution to them if Foster approves.

He has had a visit from the President of the College of Physicians, and agreed to his request for a copy of the resolution, which they hope to circulate in advance of a meeting of their Council next week. Harrison suggests that they should print and circulate the President's draft letter immediately after that Thursday's Council, as some Presidents appear to have expected a communication of the resolution earlier.

Harrison encloses a note he received from Dr David Sharp, and asks if he is to act upon it [not attached]. He cannot, on the suggestions of other people, alter the instructions he has from Foster without his agreement. The memorandum in question was sent to Dr Armstrong on 29 January, but nothing has come back from him. If these things are to be printed and circulated with summonses in advance of their meeting on 25 February, they will need to act quickly, and so Harrison is sending a reminder to Armstrong.

Harrison also encloses a letter from Edridge-Green and one unopened letter from Chatham [no attachments].
