TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Arthur William Rucker, Secretary, Royal Society
Date5 March 1897
DescriptionHarrison thinks he ought to have reminded Rucker that Rucker has the power to act in the matter of publishing the paper by [E P] Perman, [William] Ramsay & [J] Rose-Innes, on the report of the Third Referee, Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt]. Rayleigh concurs with the first referee in leaning to the opinion that the paper should be published and if based on this, Rucker thinks it fit to put it forward for publication, subject Harrison presumes to communicatting the referee's suggestions to the authors, this can be done under Standing Order 43, without waiting for anything else.

Professor Roberts-Austen gives Harrison a free hand as to fixing the postponed meeting of the Soiree Sub-Committee, excepting the 17th, 18th and 31st of this month. Harrison wonders what Rucker thinks of Tuesday 16th. Roberts-Austen has suggested 5pm, but Harrison thinks this unreasonably late.
