TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Edwin Ray Lankester, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date6 March 1897
DescriptionIn reply to Lankester's note of 4 March, Harrison sends a separate copy of the obituary notice of Professor [Thomas Henry] Huxley [not attached], which Dr [Michael] Foster has given him for the purpose. If this is not sufficient for Lankester's purpose, Harrison will arrange for the full number of the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' to be supplied.

If Lankester will send the corrections and additions to his titles in the List of Fellows, Harrison will insert them in the next edition.

In reply to Lankester's note received this morning, Harrison has referred to his rough minute book, and finds no entry at all in Lankester's handwriting on the subject of the recommendations for the Fellowship. The only two entires relate to Foreign Membership. As the minutes are only in draft and have been sent to Lankester for the express purpose of his approval or correction, it is easy to amend them, and if he returns the amended draft, they shall be finally entered in that form. Harrison recalls Harmer as being one of the names recommended by the Committee.
