| Description | Rucker is sending Ewing a paper by Osborne Reynolds for which the Sectional Committee wish Ewing to act as referee [not attached].
There are two parts to which Rucker wishes to draw Ewing's attention. Papers in the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' should not as a rule exceed twelve pages, and abstracts are generally much shorter. In this case there are two abstracts each of which is at least twelves pages. Asks if these should be reduced.
Secondly Rucker hears from Schuster that the paper is an important one. Wonders if Ewing could let him know by next Thursday if he agrees, as in that case they would make it the Bakerian lecture. If Ewing is doubtful whether it should be so honoured, the matter must stand over.
In strictness Rucker's requests ought to come from Glazebrook but Rucker has written to Glazebrook and hopes that Ewing will communicate with Glazebrook if necessary. |
