Description'My dear Sir,
I am directed to inform you, with reference to your recent letter upon the subject of the disposition of Dr Forsyth Major's collections, that the Council at their last meeting resolved to grant Dr Forsyth Major's request that, after such portions of his collections as the British Museum desired to possess had been delivered to that Museum, he might be allowed to dispose of the remainder, either as gifts to the gentlemen who had assisted him, or by sale.
