TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Dr Joseph Larmor, Professor Olaus Magnus Friedrich Erdmann Henrici, Professor Andrew Russell Forsyth, Professor Walter Elliot Elliot, Dr Ernest William Hobson, Fellows of the Royal Society
Date28 April 1897
DescriptionA paper by Mr [Alfred P] Maudslay entitled 'A Maya Calendar Inscription; interpreted by Goodman's Tables' has been refereed to the Sectional Committee for Mathematics. The Chairman of the Committee and the Secretary of the Royal Society consider that the opinion of R B Tylor, author of the Mexico entry for the 'Encyclopedia Britannica', is desirable.

The Chairman thinks that E B Knobel FRAS, who has paid special attention to astronomical archaeology, would be a good second referee. As Knobel is not an FRAS, the recipients assent to his appointment is necessary. If any more appropriate referees occur to the recipients, the Chairman of the Committee begs that they suggest them.
