Description'Sir,
In reply to your note, I am sorry that I cannot possibly spare time for such a purpose as that for which you seek an appointment. If you want information about the Royal Society, you cannot do better than refer to a series of articles by my predecessor (Mr H. [Herbert] Rix) which appeared in the "Leisure Hour" in the middle of this year.
I am, yours faithfully,
Robt Harrison
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'.
