| Description | Asks for Galton's opinion on the enclosed letter from Mr Clement Lindley Wragge [not attached], which Rucker supposes will have to come before the Council. It seems to Harrison to be very difficult for the Society to support Wragge except upon very full information as to the rights and wrongs of the question at issue.
Wragge was present at the International Congress held at Paris last September, and tried to obtain some expression of opinion as to what should be done in Australia. The Conference however declined to do more than lay down general principles.
As General Strachey is not in England, Harrison sends the letter to Galton as he may be able to say whether the matter is important in the view of English meterology. |
