Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Edward Albert Sharpey-Schafer |
Date | 28 June 1897 |
Description | Only this morning Harrison has received Dr Sidney [Harris Cox] Martin's report on Gillespie's paper, 'Some Observations on the Chemistry of the Contents of the Alimentary Tract under various Conditions...', and by the same post comes a letter from Mr Horace Brown, the second referee, saying that he cannot now take the paper and that he is leaving London until the 18th July. Brown suggests that another referee should be appointed in his place. Asks if Schafer can propose a substitute or otherwise advise him how to act.
Encloses two reports on Ferrier and Turner's paper [not attached], and as one of them seems to involve possible controversy, Harrison supposes the paper will have to wait for the meeting of the Physiology Committee. Asks when a meeting of said Committee should be called. As soon as the second report on Gillespie comes in that will complete the only two 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]' papers at present outstanding for Schafer's Committee. |
