TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to William Henry Mahoney Christie, Fellow of the Royal Society, Astronomer Royal
Date6 July 1897
DescriptionAt a meeting of Council last week it was decided to act on the suggestion contained in Christie's letter of the 26th June and to appoint an Observatories Committee of the Royal Society with Christie as Vice-Chairman, to take the place of the Indian Observatories Committee. Lists other Committee members: Sir W Huggins, Sir G G Stokes and General Sir R Strachey.

At the same meeting a letter from the Director of the Colaba Observatory which Christie has already seen, and a letter from Clement Wragge enclosed [not attached], were referred to the Observatories Committee. Asks if a meeting of the new Committee should be called before the vacation.
