Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Michael Foster, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 6 July 1897 |
Description | Encloses a letter from the Chariman of Committee Z [not attached], on which he would be glad of Foster's views [no attachment]. Regarding Bles' paper, communicated by Dr [Hans Friedrich] Gadow for the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]', Gadow estimates it to occupy 16 pages but the Society thinks it would occupy at least 28. In these circumstances Harrison presumes one of Professor [Edwin Ray] Lankester's suggestions must be adopted and shall be glad to hear from Foster which.
Regarding Warren's paper and the two referee's opinions being at variance, Harrison presumes it is a case for a third referee unless the Chairman's opinion is to be taken as given in that capacity, in which case Harrison presumes it is for Foster and the Chairman to take action, or rather to decide to take no action under standing order 43.
Encloses a letter from Professor [Archibald] Liversidge [not attached]. |
