DescriptionWith reference to Carrington's letter of 5th August enclosing Carrington's cheque for £7.10, which had been returned to Carrington as mutilated, Messrs Robarts Lubbock & Company inform the Society that the Treasurer's signature [John Evans] was cancelled in error. The Society has requested the Messrs to honour the cheque when again presented as it is impossible to obtain the Treasurer now. To facilitate matters they have stamped 'Royal Society' at the join on the back. The cheque is enclosed herewith.
