TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Messrs Harrison & Sons, St Martin's Lane, W.C.
Date13 December 1897
DescriptionHas been asked to call the Messrs attention to the long period of time which has elapsed between the passing of Captain [William de Wiveleslie] Abney's paper in the 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]' for press, and its publication. The length of time occupied in getting papers communicated to the Society published in the 'Transactions' is a constant subject of discussion, and the obstacles to rapidity of publication are so many, that it is absolutely necessary to remove any which are at all under the Society's control. Shall be glad to hear what the Messrs have to say of the month long delay.
