DescriptionAt the International Conference on a Catalogue of Scientific Literature held in London in July 1896, the Royal Society was entrusted with the duty of studying various questions relating to the Catalogue and of reporting thereon to the Governments concerned in the Conference. A Committee has since been appointed and a report produced which is enclosed [enclosure not present]. Requests that copies are transmitted to the various Governments.

The Committee hopes that the report will be the basis of a practicable scheme for carrying out the proposed Catalogue and that the Governments concerned will be prepared to take necessary steps to put some such scheme in to practice. Each government should appoint delegates to an International Convention with powers to organize the establishment of an organisation for the conduct of the Catalogue.
