TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster and Arthur William Rucker, to the Librarian of the University Library, Cambridge
Date25 April 1898
DescriptionThe Committee of the Royal Society has now completed the Report on the proposed International Catalogue of Scientific Literature which the International Conference of 1896 requested it to draw up. Copies of the Report, for transmission to the Government's represented at that Conference, have been sent to the Marquis of Salisbury, with a request that invitations are issued for another Conference or Convention for the purpose of considering the Report and, if desirable, taking action upon it.

The Committee are anxious that the proposed Catalogue should prove useful to Libraries as well as to workers in science. Therefore enclosed two copies of the report [not enclosed]. Asks for any other suggestions too.
