TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Arthur William Rucker, Secretary, Royal Society
Date26 September 1898
DescriptionWrites to supplement his telegrams. Harrison visited the Foreign Office last week and Mr Wylde promised to telegraph the four principal Governments to stir up the despatch of their nominations. In reply they have received information of the delegates for Hungary and a note from Paris saying that the Ministry of Public Instruction is being reminded to send the names of representatives. Replies are expected from Berlin and Vienna in a day or two and the Society are advised not to act independently. Does not expect any hitches and explains why he has not called a meeting with Dr [Michael] Foster.

No letters have been received at the Society in reply to Rucker's except one to Foster from Count Costa which Harrison has sent down to Cambridge. Returns Professor Dyck's letter [not enclosed].

The Zoology referees were all in favour of Professor Karl Pearson's paper being published so Rucker has sent off the letter to Pearson.
