DescriptionReplies to the queries in Rykatcheff's letter of the 8th. The International Catalogue Conference left it to the members of the provisional International Committee to nominate representatives to the two vacant seats. They could not nominate a Russian unless the Russian Government express its willingness to take part in the discussion. Discusses steps taken to secure a Russian for the provisional Committee and explains that the Society is anxious for such a representative.

The appointment of a delegate will not involve the Russian Government in any financial responsibility and will not commit them to the scheme. Briefly discusses funding should the scheme be carried out.

Thinks it very desirable that a personal conference should take place between some of the members of the Observatoire Physique Central and some of the members of the International Committee. Discusses possible arrangements for this.

Discusses a probable meeting of the federation of Academies in Munich next Spring and arrangements that would need to be made for this such as the nomination of representatives and a list of questions desired to bring before the meeting. Notes questions should be confined as much as possible to matters on which international cooperation is desirable; Antarctic Expeditions, geodetic and magnetic work et cetera.
