| Description | Rucker must confess that it appears that the Joint Permanent Eclipse Committee rules cause a good deal of unnecessary friction, almost certainly resulting from an attempt to have an absolute cast-iron system which is to be applied with equal severity to a [?] like Shackleton as to a veteran like Lockyer. It strikes an outsider as being anomalous that while a formal debate on the eclipse may take place at Bristol, a mere note such as Lockyer's calls forth protests in London.
Notes the President and Council wish to consider the whole question of Government Grants to Eclipse parties, before another grant is made. |
