TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor [A R] Forsyth
Date27 January 1899
DescriptionIn reply to the postscript of Forsyth's letter to Professor [Arthur William] Rucker, the postcard enclosed [not enclosed] was put before the machinery settled at the beginning of the Sectional Committee System. It was intended as a convenient and labour saving device for informing the Chairman of the arrival and acceptance or otherwise of a paper with the essential particulars of its length, probable cost, etc. One of the most active Chairmen used to like to keep the cards as a record and would use the reply portion to send instructions. Harrison keeps this reply portions as authorities for dealing with papers. If Forsyth does not want to use the system, let Harrison know, but Harrison does insist on uniformity.
