DescriptionIn reply to letter referring to a recent Conference held at the Treasury with respect to the protection of Government Observatories from the effects of electrical traction, and enclosing a copy of a draft clause for insertion in Bills promoted by COmpanies using electic power. The President and the Council consider the clause as drafted to be satisfactory.

The President and Council assume that the protection to be afforded to the Kew Observatory will 'a fortiori' be extended to that institution when it becomes the National Physical Laboratory.
