DescriptionThe President and Council of the Royal Society, in consequence of the resolutions passed at the International Geological Congress held in St Petersburg, appointed a Committee to consider and report upon a proposal for the establishment of an International Floating Observatory. A report has now been received from this Committee and a copy is enclosed [not enclosed].

The Council wish to express their entire apprival of the recommendations in the report.
