TitleCopy letter from Theodore E James, to Messrs R & J Beck, 68 Cornhill, E.C.
Date26 June 1899
DescriptionReferring to the order for six microscopes and six lamps these were ordered for 3pm of the day of the Soiree. Dr Gladstone waited for the instruments till 5pm, at great inconvenience and as a result had nothing to show at the press view, at 4.30pm. Further high powers were ordered but not sent in spite of the Society's note that the Messrs should write to Gladstone for further information. Also discusses a high bill sent to Gladstone for hiring the microscopes.
