TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to Professor St George Jackson Mivart, [Fellow of the Royal Society]
Date[7 July 1899]
DescriptionThe Soiree Committee reason that the direction 'non transferable' may be neglected where it is obvious that it would be most undesirable to permit this. Such an occasion as Mivart's own can be easily met by the Secretaries, under the authority of the Committee countersigning any particular invitation as being transferred to this person or that, or what is better still by issuing a separate invitation in place of the old one, where is seems desirable.
