TitleCopy letter from Arthur William Rucker, to Ernest Alfred Thompson Wallis Budge, The British Museum, Bloomsbury, W.C.
Date7 July 1899
DescriptionBudges's paper 'On the Orientation of the Pyramids and Temples in the Sudan' will be published in the 'Proceedings of the Royal Society' if he is willing to modify it in accordance with the enclosed extract regarding omissions which might be made, from one of the referees [no enclosure]. There is no intention to depreciate Budge's paper; neither the ordinary customs or finances of the Society will allow of the publication of papers containing a large mount of archaeological detail.

On learning that Budge is willing to comply Rucker will at once forward Budge's paper for alteration. As the communicator of the paper, Sir Norman Lockyer has been informed of the decision of the Council.
