TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Reverend Thomas Roscoe Rede Stebbing, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date28 July 1899
DescriptionIn reply to Stebbing's letter of the previous day, Harrison does not think he need be rigid in the application of the rule calling in books, under the circumstances Stebbing mentions, but in order to be quite formal he has referred the matter to the Chairman of the Library Committee.

With regards to Stebbing's other question, he knows of no objection to an author having illustrations to his paper executed abroad if he specially desires it, but in the case Stebbing mentions, the cost estimated is considerably more than the price the Royal Society generally pays for plates for the '[Philosophical] Transactions [of the Royal Society]'.

Explains provision of gratuitous copies to authors.
