TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Sir George Gabriel Stokes, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date12 October 1899
DescriptionIn rely to Stokes' note the only matters before them on next Tuesday are, the paper by Godfrey upon which they are awaiting a report, and a paper by [Louis Napoleon George] Filon on bent beams, on which one referee's report is somewhat indefinite, whilst the other is quite definite for rejection. There is also a paper by Mr [Richard Dixon] Oldham on earthquakes regarding which the referee's differ somewhat in the matters of its destination and modification, and a decision is required on the posthumous paper by Mr Sworn.

Hopes these particulars will help clarify is Stokes needs to come up to town for the meeting.
