Description | In reply to Lamiable's letter of the 7th, the forms of receipt enclosed in the numbers of the 'Proceedings of the Royal Society' need not be returned by Monsieur Jannsen. As to the question of a set of the Royal Society's publications for the observatory of Meudon, this must await the decision of the Library Committee.
Back copies of the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' can be obtained at rather more than 25 francs per volume, or a lower price for second hand copies. As for 'Philosophical Transactions' which Lamiable says they posses to 1880, the volumes cost 75 to 100 francs per year. Monsieur Welter, Rue des Saints-Pères, could give particulars about second hand copies. |
