DescriptionAt their meeting yesterday the President and Council concluded that it is desirable that each of the two Societies add at least one member of the Joint Antarctic Committee as recently reconstituted. In the event of the Royal Geographical Society agreeing to this proposal, the Royal Society, acting in the belief that the RGS would desire to nominate Vice-Admiral Sir G S Nares, proposes to nominate J Y Buchanan as a member.
