TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to Sir Julian Pauncefote, the Foreign Office
Date31 January 1889
DescriptionIn response to Pauncefote's letter of 28 January stating that the Emperor of Brazil, honorary member of the Royal Society, has expressed to Her Majesty's Minister at Rio de Janeiro a wish to receive the publications of the Society, Rix states that formerly the Emperor's agent applied for these in the usual manner, but that since 17 November 1875 no application has been received. Rix proposes that it would be more convenient in future to send the publications in an annual parcel, which could easily be achieved if the Brazilian Embassy or Foreign Office make it convenient to despatch.

The volumes due to the Emperor will be despatched as soon as Rix receives instructions as to the channel via which they are to be sent.
