TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor John Couch Adams, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date5 December 1887
DescriptionNotifies Adams that, at the recommendation of the Scientific Relief Committee, ninty pounds had been granted for the benefit of the daughters of the late Professor J R Young, and asks if he will adminster the grant on their behalf. Rix also asks that if he does not feel able to take on this duty, that he let him as soon as possible due to the pressing nature of the case.

One daughter, Miss Emily Young, had referred to their clergymen in letters, Rev H E Jennings in East Dulwich, and Rix suggests sending the money via Jennings might be a convenient solution. The address of the daughters is noted, and the enclosure of the cheque [not included] is also mentioned.
