TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Messrs Wener & Winter, Frankfurt
Date3 May 1888
DescriptionExplains that their account of 3 March has not been settled, and lists the reasons why. Firstly, they have charged for 505 copies rather than 500. Rix speculates that this may be in response to his letter which presumed they would send free of charge a small number of extra copies in order to cover any defects.

A cheque for the original amount would have been sent though, were it not for the further difficulty caused by the fact that many of the lithographs printed exceeded the size of the page. To prevent a further delay though, the Royal Society have had the text printed on larger paper to match the misprinted larger plates. As a consequence of this solution, the cheque is enclosed [not included].
