TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt]
Date28 May 1888
DescriptionThe plates for Mr Ewart's paper have gone to Cambridge [the Cambridge Scientific Instrument Company], and Rix notes that it would be sensible to wait until the plates are further advanced before beginning work on the text. Both reports recommend the paper for 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society', but Rix notes that Mr Langley's enclosed report [not included] suggests an alteration.

Rix further notes another paper by Ewart, which the Committee of papers did not deal with last time, 'On the Structure of the Electric Organ of Raia circularis' which Ewart has suggested that it might be treated as an addendum to the paper on Raia batis. If so, Rix asks if it should be sent to the same referees as the main paper, and if it will be safe to send it at once.
