TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Ferdinand Falk, 34 Old Broad Street, EC
Date1 October 1888
DescriptionResponse to Falk's letter of 29 September, in which Rix informs him that a resolution was passed at the end of the last session by the President and Council of the Royal Society, granting leave for Dr Emil Wohlwill to have copies of correspondence of J Oldenburg and Vogel. Rix has been under the misapprehension that Wohlwill had been in, but in fact it was another German gentleman writing a life of Oldenburg who had referred to their archives, and this caused a delay in Rix informing Falk of the resolution.

Rix notes that a Society employee would be willing to copy the desired correspondence, but states that because it would need to undertaken outside office hours the charge would be likely to exceed that of a copyist. If he finds a trustworthy copyist for the job, they will be given access to the necessary documents.
