TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, Royal Society
Date2 January 1888
DescriptionConveys a message from the Treasurer of the Royal Society that as he will be leaving home later than expected, he will be available to attend any committee meetings at the Society on Thursday 12 January, and expects to see Foster on Wednesday.

Also notes the enclosure of proofs of 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society' [not included], and discusses whether two items should proceed volume 178. The materials for the history of the Government Grant are ready and Rix will write it up in his evenings. Rix expresses his hopes that the Library Committee will soon meet, as they need to finalise revisions to the list of institutions to send the new volume of 'Philosophical Transactions', and change the format of the list of institutions. Rix asks if he should wait for the Library Committee meeting before issuing preliminary papers of 'Philosophical Transactions', and outlines his intention to put the list of institutions before each of the two sections in the next volume.
