TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Thomas George Bonney, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date26 November 1888
DescriptionReports that Mr Dawson's certificate is to hand, but that he has been instructed by the Officers of the Royal Society not to accept any more certificates with printed matter attached. The practice has grown, and one certificate was sent in with a pamphlet of several leaves attached. It is noted as inconvenient due to the cost of printing such matters in the annual circular, the presence of loose attachments in their portfolio, and the informal signatures on a document consisting of two separate parts.

Rix asks that Bonney call in when nearby to select the most important titles of Mr Dawson's works to be copied onto the certificate.
