TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to John William Strutt, 3rd Baron Rayleigh
Date9 January 1888
DescriptionMr Buchanan's paper is an old matter, with revisions to the manuscript before it was returned to the Royal Society having taken many years, and the paper never having been read. Rix reminds Strutt that on the advice of the President of the Royal Society he had sent it a week or two ago to Strutt for his opinion. Since the arrival of a paper by Andrew Russell Forsyth and lack of urgency with regard the Buchanan paper, Rix plans to bring it up the next Thursday.

Also records that a short note has received from Joseph Norman Lockyer and that Rix has written to Michael Foster to ask whether it is to be read next Thursday.
