TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Mr Fowler
Date7 January 1889
DescriptionThey have not yet had the all the photographs of the diagrams for the Bakerian Lecture, the receipt of which was a condition on which the originals were returned. The one outstanding diagram is figure 18 on p83 in volume 44 of 'Proceedings of the Royal Society'. At the last Council meeting they also granted permission for Joseph Norman Lockyer to have the originals of the appendix if he sent in photographs of them, and so Fowler can have back the ten large charts should he wish, as the Royal Society do not mind whether the have the originals or photographs. Also in the appendix, they are missing the originals or photographs of figures two, 15, 17, 21-25.

Rix assumes that Fowler had proofs of the small figures with lettering which he referred to in his note of 17 November, and that the lantern slides for Thursday are all complete. Rix reports that the battery cells are in a poor condition and so he is trying to get the battery in order for the event. He assumes Fowler will be present to demonstrate, and asks him to let them know if he wishes to try the lantern beforehand.
