Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor John Joly, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 15 February 1900 |
Description | Regarding the paper by Dr H H Dixon on Cocospheres and Coccoliths which Joly communicated to the Society, the paper has been accepted for the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]'.
Before taking steps to proceed with publication of the paper, Harrison is directed by the Committee to say that it exceeds the length to which it is now the practice of the Society to limit 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' papers and Harrison is to ask Joly to suggest to Dixon the desirability of abbreviating it. Asks to know as soon as possible if the author is prepared to do this and if so, whether he would like the paper returned for this purpose. Asks Joly to ask the author to plan the illustrations in such a way as for them to fit on one plate, the drawings can be returned for this purpose. |
