TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to Dr Philip Lutley Sclater, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date19 January 1990
DescriptionSclater's letter of 16th November asking for a grant of £20 from the Donation Fund to aid in the collection of fishes from the Senegal River was today read before the President and Council, and Foster is directed to reply as follows. It appears that the fishes which it is proposed to collect are being added to the collections of the British Museum, Natural History, and will be studied and described by Boulanger as part of his official duties a the Museum. The President and Council think that the expenses of such collections should be met by the British Museum itself, and for that reason, and that reason alone, the Society are unwilling to make the grant in question.
