DescriptionIn reply to the Secretary's letter of the 16 April, M 5252, Harrison has consulted the Joint Committee of the Royal Society and Royal Astronomical Society on the request of the Astronomer Royal for Scotland, that Mr Franklin-Adams and Mr Heath be added to the [eclipse] observers to be conveyed in the HMS 'Theseus', to Alicante. The Committee endorse Dr Copeland's request and would be glad if the Lords of Admiralty could arrange to give the necessary help between Gibraltar and Alicante to the additional observers.
