TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Foreign Office, S.W.
Date28 April 1900
DescriptionWith reference to previous correspondence respecting the expeditions which are about to proceed to view the solar eclipse and to the Under Secretary's letter of the 23 April enclosing a dispatch reporting the arrangements which have been made by the Portuguese Government to facilitate the observers, Harrison points out that in his letter of 13 March, the Government were requested to obtain similar privileges from the Governments of Spain and France. As some of the observers will be leaving England at the end of the month it would be of great advantage to know if the desired privileges will be granted.
