Description | The Royal Society as been informed by Professor [Arthur] Auwers, Secretary of the Berlin Academy of Sciences that for the ensuing year Paris will be the place of assembly of the International Association of Academies. States a notion proposed by the Delegates of the Royal Society for consideration; namely whether steps should be taken to prepare for a Geodetic Arc along the 30th meridian northwards from the southern end of Lake Tanganyika.
The Society has appointed a Committee to prepare a Memorandum on this proposal for submission to the General Assembly which will be forwarded to the President as soon as it is drawn up.
States four additions to the Statues of the Association to be proposed by the National Academy of Sciences at Washington, after Section 10, which the Delegates of the Royal Society support. |
