DescriptionThe President and Council of the Royal Society have nominated Thomson to act as one of the delegates of the Society at the forthcoming General Assembly of the International Association of Academies. This meeting will be held in Paris, probably in October. The other delegates of the Society are; Professor Armstrong, Professor [Andrew Russell] Forsyth, Sir Michael Foster, Sir A Geikie, Professor Lankester, Sir N Lockyer, Professor [Arthur William] Rucker, Professor Schuster, Dr Thorpe and Sir D Gill.

The vote of the Society in the deliberations of the Association should be delivered by Thomson and in the absence of any special mandate from the Society, the vote to delivered should express the views of the majority of delegates.
