TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Silvanus Phillips Thompson, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date3 October 1900
DescriptionSome years ago Thompson appears to have been the only active member of a Committee appointed to report on the best mode of disposing of the instruments presently stored in the instrument room. Harrison understands the Committee has not yet reported and the subject having been raised at Council this summer, Harrison has completed a list which he found partially made out, of the instruments belonging to the Royal Society and now in their possession. Sir Michael Foster has asked Harrison to ask if Thompson can spare the time to visit before the session begins to look at the instruments with a view to advising on their disposal.
