Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Dr George Johnstone Stoney, Fellow of the Royal Society, Fernbank, Howth, County Dublin |
Date | 18 July 1900 |
Description | Has received this morning the corrected proof of Stoney's paper. Regarding Stoney's statement of claim on behalf of Dr [William Henry] Dallinger for the Darwin Medal, Sir M Foster, before he started for America, asked Harrison to enquire of Stoney whether he has any objection to Professor [William Abbott] Herdman seeing the manuscript before it is set up in type, as after looking at it Herdman thought possibly a consultation between Stoney and Herdman might result in some modification of the statement. If Stoney has objections to this course Harrison will at once send the statement to the printers, but it is desirable to avoid as much as possible corrections in the press. |
