TitleCopy letter from Sir Michael Foster, to the Chancellor Council and Senate, University of Glasgow
Date[May 1901]
DescriptionThe President and Council send their greetings on the University's ninth jubilee. Points out that the Royal Society and the University share many qualities in the study and promotion of natural knowledge, and that many Fellows also appear on the roll of the University of Glasgow, including three of the Royal Society's presidents. Foster notes it is most fitting that the Royal Society should wish those presidents, Sir Joseph Dalton Hooker, Lord [William Thomson] Kelvin and Lord [Joseph] Lister to bear to the University the heartfelt congratulations of the Royal Society.
