TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Dr Oliver [Joseph] Lodge, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date16 May 1901
DescriptionSending three papers by Professor [Jagadis Chunder] Bose: 'On the Continuity of Effect of Light and Electric Radiation on Matter', 'On the Similarities between Radiation and Mechanical Strains' and 'On the Strain Theory of Photographic Action'. Asks Lodge to advise the Physics and Chemistry Committee as to their suitability for 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]'. The papers are the result of Lodge's report on two papers submitted last year, and that the vote on the Sectional Committee was that they were too long and could be condensed into one paper. Bose was informed the papers will be preserved in the Royal Society archives.

Includes a written addendum explaining that the three papers under consideration should be treated as new, and the older versions as archived. Encloses Lodge's original report for reference [not enclosed].
