TitleCopy letter from A H White, to Walton Brown, Secretary, Institute of Mining Engineers, Newcastle
Date2 August 1901
DescriptionRegrets from the tenor of Brown's letter that the Institute apparently does not contemplate subscribing to any of the sections of the International Catalogue [of Scientific Literature], and White believes this is due to a partial misapprehension.
It is the intention that the Index should be compiled on the same lines as the Royal Society's Catalogue. The principle on which practical and technical papers were indexed in the latter was that only practical papers should be included if they had some scientific value. The same principle will be acted upon in the new catalogue.
